This May half term Victorian passengers will take over the SS Great Britain, bringing the historic dockyard to life!
Discover lesser-known stories from the fearless women who travelled on board to pursue new lives across the waves. 🌊
Meet those who were brave enough to voyage on Victorian steam ships from actresses to stewardesses, watch as dramas unfold between passengers and hear tales of Victorian life at sea as you explore in, under and around the ship.
We are working with students from the Bristol Institute of Performing Arts (BIPA). Women of the Waves will follow special costumed character training here at the SS Great Britain with Bristol Improv Theatre. The bespoke costumes were created by film and TV standard, Bristol Costume Services.
